Whitstable Harbour

It rained most of the time during this evening shoot. Having arranged to meet a fellow photographer to share some creative time I chose not to cancel so we met up and pressed on in the rain, seeking shelter when it just got too bad.

The results surprise me. On the evening I made up my mind to frame for square compositions and to process all the shots as gritty monochromes but having let the images rest for a while I see now that a light processing touch was called for. Just a gentle kiss from Lightroom, nothing more.

This is quite a large gallery as I want to show the transition from heavy rain and low light to a glorious sunset with a crispness that took me by surprise.
