I don’t often scale a mountain but on this occasion Nicola and I decided to clamber up to the summit of Scafell from our camp site at Wasdale Head. It was something of an impulse decision and, although I regretted taking my Canon, it did afford me a handful of memory shots.
The climb was quite arduous due to the weight of my backpack and the hardness of the scree under our barefoot Vibram footwear but we made it. In fact we choose to extend our route with a jaunt around the foot of Great Gable.
