Early Morning with Rivington Roe

An early start enabled me to blend into the countryside that bit more this morning and, for once, I was up before at least some of the deer. I got a handful of shots of one doe snoozing just before sunrise!

Other than that I spent a couple of hours carefully stalking the broken herd and was fortunately in the right place when an insomniac dog walker flushed them right past me. The light was quite low and without much finesse so I had to adapt my shooting strategy, but isn’t that always the case.

Here’s a handful of the results. I’ve seen one particular shot that I really want to catch and will give it a try tomorrow. I reckon I have four or five days before the bluebells go and then so will that dream image for another year.
