As I stepped onto the beach at sunrise I felt a surge of anticipation for the day ahead. 7 photographers were going to join me for a day long workshop and the weather was wonderful. The sun broke over the dunes and lit up the channels and runnels that crisscrossed the pristine sands.
The morning was spent exploring the desolate beach, our creativity being sharpened and challenged by the apparent lack of subjects on the wild windswept shore. Patterns, details, movement, light, shade and kite surfers kept us occupied up to lunch and then the waterfowl at Martin Mere engaged our skills, honed our reflexes and our sense of timing.
