Snails on Sand

1409b265

I didn’t intend to shoot snails when I visited the beach. It sort of just happened.

The pair of snails were hidden deep in the marram grass so I decided to depict them through the vegetation, below are a couple of rather more extreme versions. Their chocolate and cream spirals lent themselves perfectly to monochrome too. Low light levels made a tripod essential, but that’s the way I usually work anyway.
